Here’s the backstory…
Rivers of hot tears ran down my face as I sobbed uncontrollably. My heart felt like it was bursting open.
The mounting frustration of my failing business had formed a knot of fear in the pit of my stomach. The pressure had become too much to bear. I couldn’t take it anymore. I had reached the end of myself. Suddenly, the dam of my pride broke loose and tears started flowing.

Kneeling on the floor in the prostrate position, I felt the comfort of my pregnant wife’s hand, rubbing my back. Here I was, a grown man, sobbing in front of his wife. What kind of dude am I? But I couldn’t help it. “I just want to provide for my family. I’m so sick and tired of working so f*#@in’ hard with nothing to show for it,” I thought to myself. I was $34k in debt, burnt out and frustrated.
I was so broke, that when my piece of crap rust bucket (aka “chick magnet”) blew a flat tire, I drove the pizza cutter spare tire for 3 months, because I couldn’t afford to replace it!

And on that dark night of desperation, I considered giving up on my dream of being a successful business owner and just getting a “real job.”
Thankfully I didn’t. In fact, that was a defining moment in my life. It was at that very moment that I decided to become a serious student of marketing. That’s when everything changed for me…
So, how did I get here?
In early 2003, I launched my coaching and consulting business, Power of Choice Coaching Inc., born out of my passion to help people create breakthroughs in their lives, both personally and professionally.
This was my true calling. Nothing is more fulfilling to me than helping people unlock their full potential. It’s my purpose for being. So, I started providing life coaching to sales professionals and business owners.
However, like many small business owners, I was great at what I did but was absolutely clueless about marketing , namely, how to attract clients. I did silly things like cold calling and offering people free consultations. While that worked to an extent, I was still struggling to pay the bills.
That’s when I realized, as I lay on the floor sobbing like a schoolgirl…
“If I don’t learn this MARKETING THING, I’m going to have skinny kids.”
Idid some online research and found a marketing course by David Frey called the Coaches and Consultants Marketing Boocamp. It was only $247 but at the time, that was more than I could afford. But I knew successful people invest in themselves and their own education. So, I took a deep breath, I pulled out my credit card, and placed the order.
That was the beginning of my breakthrough…
Since that time, I’ve become a ravenous piranha for marketing, investing in books, tapes and seminars to sharpen my skills.
I immediately started implementing what I learned and saw immediate positive results. This was the dawning of my quest to become a masterful marketer – a quest that continues to fascinate me to this very day.
Icount myself very blessed and fortunate to have discovered one of my greatest passions relatively early in life. I absolutely love the art and science of marketing.
To me, it’s fun! Very fun! And because of that natural inborn passion, I’m always learning how to get better at it. I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours studying the secrets of some of the world’s top marketing experts like Dan Kennedy, Jay Abraham, Ted Nicholas, Russell Brunson, Joe Polish, etc., the list goes on and on.
Like anything in life, if you study something long enough, it will begin to reveal its secrets to you - no matter what you’re studying!
Because of my magnificent obsession with marketing, I’ve learned a thing or two about how it works and how to harness its incredible profit-producing power.
In early 2004 (about a year after my sobbing-like-a-schoolgirl incident), a client of mine referred me to a mortgage specialist who was on salary plus a little commission at a credit union. He was starting to get itchy feet and decided to take the plunge into that scary, audacious realm called “100% commission” – you eat what you kill. I am sure you can appreciate how scary that can be!
So he hired me as his coach to help him through that transition, and I guess we must have done something right because after 8 short months, he more than tripled his banking salary and was earning well over $10,000 per month! Within a few short years, he became one of the TOP 5 brokers in Canada, funding over $200M in mortgages per year!
Fast Forward To The Present...
Now, over 17 years later, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of mortgage professionals close more deals with less effort, regardless of market conditions.
In fact, due to my high-value, high-impact mortgage marketing solutions, I was recently awarded the prestigious “Best Industry Service Provider” award three years in a row at the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Canadian Mortgage Awards.
